Abstract

The proposed work aims to provide a natural yellow and innovative technique for the mordanting and dyeing of cotton fabric with natural turmeric dye using the unconventional technology of ultrasonic. For providing eco-friendly dyeing process pomegranate rind used as a natural mordant and compared with conventional technique followed by natural turmeric dyeing of cotton fabric with ultrasonic. The analysis of color fastness tests proved very good results by ultrasonic technique as compared to conventional dyeing method. A significant savings in terms of dyeing temperature, salt concentration and time was realized. Moreover, the dyeing effluent showed considerable reductions for the ultrasonic dye bath in comparison to the conventional dye bath.
