Without adhering to a strict sense of management and administration, no state can be run. This article aims to highlight the basic principles of state administration in the light of Islamic thought. Islam lays great stress on principles of social relations, administration of social affairs, and important issues related to politics and government, which play a pivotal role in the well-being of humans. The article has four parts. The first part includes introduction and importance of state administration. The second part discusses views of various Muslim thinkers on the subject. The third part highlights certain aspects of selection and training of employees in the light of Islamic thought. The last part elaborates upon the application of the Islamic principles of administration and management in the present era.
