Abstract

The role of Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is very important in the progress of any country. The focus of TVET sector is on the competency of their graduates. The competency is based on the effective curriculum implementation. This research aimed to explore the difference of TVET graduates of traditional and competency based programs with respect to curriculum implementation. To complete this study a questionnaire on five point lickert scale was adapted with permission from (Dadi, 2014). The instrument is based on 07 factors & 61 statements. By using simple random sampling the data of 64 teachers of traditional training and 64 teachers of CBT was collected through online Google survey. Their reliability was 0.96 and 0.97 respectively, measured through Cronbachs’ Alpha. Descriptive statistics & independent sample t-test were used to find the difference and impact of factors on curricula implementation. The summary of the findings help to draw the conclusion that implementation of TVET curriculum in competency based training programs are comparatively effective rather than the traditional training programs. There is a significant difference in the curriculum implementation in the CBT programs and traditional training programs. Teachers look more satisfy with implementation of TVET curriculum in CBT programs instead of traditional training programs
