Abstract

This short research revolves around the issue that needs attention to explain its nature and reality, and then its adaption and foundation to reach a legal ruling in it, which is the issue of conventional insurance, and what made this issue so important and highlighted among scholars is that it is one of the emerging modern issues. One of the main reasons that helped in its massive spread is that it was chosen from the commercial and civil laws and its characteristics and necessity is highlighted and it has ease and convenience for the general public. This research aims to explain the actual meaning of conventional insurance and its attributes and pillars that distinguish it from other types of insurance so that it facilitates the students and readers to reach the legal ruling on it in the light of the Islamic Sharia. The ruling on this type of insurance is different among the scholars. The researcher therefore needs to look in the depth of the evidences of both sides, and discuss it according to the rules of Islamic law, in order to reach the more correct opinion on this issue, as we have done in this research.
