Abstract

Sajjad HaidarYaldrum is among the pioneers of fiction writing in the Urdu literature. Most of his short stories are translated from Turkish literature. Instead of literal translation, he focused on the theme of these translations. Due the absence of Turkish reference, the translations are not been seriously attempted to compare with the Turkish text. In the present article, his short story "Sauda e Sangeen" is compared with its original Turkish text. it's analyzed that while translating Khalid Zia Aushakili’s short story, whether Yaldrum has kept the artistic values of translation into consideration or not.
