Abstract

Pragmatism is a formal philosophy derived from the thoughts of Charles Sanders Peirce, William James and John Dewey. It considers language and thought as a means of prediction and solving of problems and against formalism and abstractionism and it is related to the philosophy of action to improve and protect the human life in this universe. In this article, firstly, presented complete definition and introduction of the pioneers of this philosophy. After that, various elements of this philosophy has been drawn from the poetry of prominent Pashto poet of Roshani Movement Wasil Roshani and discussed with the help of secondary sources. In the end, it has been explained that there are excellent examples of Pragmatism in Wasil`s poetry.
