Description

Columbus was searching for gold in Hispaniola but he found it nowhere. He also established a base at Fort Navidad in Haiti that was wiped out by the native Americans. Columbus also travelled to Venezuela, Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua and many other countries during his four journeys. He was also arrested and sent to court by a Spanish judge. But Columbus convinced the Spanish sovereigns Ferdinand II and Isabella I that he was close to finding the gold. They released Columbus. Columbus also expected to meet Vasco De Gamma during his trip to Asia.
