گنگا رام نے لاہور کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے اہم کام کیا۔ اس نے لوئر باری دوآب کینال کے نام سے ایک بڑی نہر بنائی جس نے خشک جگہوں کو اچھی کھیتوں میں بدل دیا، جس سے کسانوں کو مزید فصلیں اگانے میں مدد ملی۔ انہوں نے یہ منصوبہ بھی بنایا کہ لاہور میں سڑکیں اور عمارتیں کیسی ہونی چاہئیں، شہر کو مزید جدید اور منظم بنایا جائے۔

سر گنگا رام، صرف ایک اچھے بلڈر ہی نہیں تھے ۔ وہ مہربان انسان بھی تھے. تعلیم اور صحت کے فروغ کے لیے انہوں نے اسکولوں، کالجوں اور اسپتالوں کی تعمیر میں مدد کے لیے بہت پیسہ دیا۔ ان کے نام پر رکھا گیا ہسپتال، سر گنگا رام ہسپتال، ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کی مدد کرنے کا کتنا خیال رکھتے تھے۔ یہاں تک کہ برطانوی حکومت نے اس کے تمام عظیم کاموں کی وجہ سے اسے ایک خاص لقب (نائٹ) دیا تھا۔۔

As a philanthropist, Sir Ganga Ram's generosity was felt through substantial donations, funding schools, colleges, and healthcare institutions. The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, established in his honor, stands as a testament to his commitment to public welfare. Knighted by the British government for his outstanding contributions, Sir Ganga Ram's name is synonymous with the transformation and modernization of Lahore, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to shape the city's identity.
