Highlights of today's event 'Zero-Day Employability of Computing Graduates' at HEC Secretariat Islamabad.

The Minister of IT, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja while sharing her thoughts with the audience as a chief guest, emphasised the urgent need for novel interventions to boost the employability of IT graduates in Pakistan. She highlighted the govt's commitment to facilitating academia, industry, and all stakeholders in removing hurdles and achieving the target of $15 billion in IT exports by 2029.

Chairman HEC, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, shared insights on new skill-based curricula and the importance of academia-industry linkages. Secretary MoIT&T, Mr. Zarrar Hasham Khan, presented a detailed National IT Roadmap, outlining key challenges and recommendations for sectoral growth.

The conference also featured insightful panel discussions on curriculum standardization, competency testing, and linking final year projects with industry needs. The recommendations from these discussions will be shared with all stakeholders for practical implementation.

The event was organised by HEC in collaboration with MoIT&T and PSEB. Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Secretary MoIT&T Mr. Zarraz Hasham Khan, Vice Chancellors of a large number of universities, faculty members, and IT industry representatives were in attendence.
