Startup Description:
In Pakistan less than 12% girls pursue careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) degrees they complete.
There is a dire need to address this gender disparity. Ejaad Gah is an initiative that aims to minimize this gap by setting up informal Makerspace’s or tinkering spaces in girls’ schools so that girls (enrolled in grades 6-8) could take ownership of their learning, develop a positive attitude and interest for STEM subjects, and be able to pursue careers of their own choice in future.
The Ejaad Gahs will be equipped with STEM kits and materials, using which girls could put their theoretical knowledge to practical use, enabling them to become better equipped for future job opportunities and eventually help fill the workforce gap.
