Today's Lecture | Variables and constants
Today we will discuss discuss about variables and constants. Variables are used in C programming language and C++ two name memory location so that we can store different type of values in variables which can be changed throughout the execution of a program. On contrary constants are special type of variable whose value cannot be changed when we assign them a value in the beginning of a program. The rules to name variable and constants are same as the rule to name identifiers in C programming language and C++ programming.
C programming has a specific rule to declare a variable that variables must be declared before start of the statements while C plus plus give us freedom to declare variables just before its use anywhere in the program. In C programming compiler if we will declare a program in the middle of the statements it will give us a send text error while cplusplus will not give us any type of centex error if variables are declared in the middle of a program. The same is for the constant. Variable and constant name should be started with n Alphabet R_ although we can use numeric with alphabets in the beginning to name a constant are variables. Variable and constant name cannot contain space and-. C and C plus plus are case sensitive language hands capital X is a different variable then small x
