This is short online video lecture number 3 for CS 4023 of automata in which the concept of regular expression is explain with lot of examples taken from formal language. As we know there are two types of languages formal languages and informal languages and we can represent a formal language in three different ways descriptive recursive definition and regular expression.
Regular expression in theory of automata is the third way to define a formal language with the help of mathematical type equation and Kleene star closure and current Star and Plus operation.
The examples are taken from introduction to theory of computation book and are examples are taken from chapter number 3 and chapter number 4 of introduction to theory of computation book written by Michael sipser.
