Prevalence of hepatitis C is 5% in the general population in Pakistan. Hepatitis C is the most common cause of liver cirrhosis in Pakistan. Before September 2014, treatment of chronic hepatitis C used to be Interferon & Ribavirin combination; but since then (2014) treatment of chronic hepatitis C comprises oral drugs (DAAs) which is effective in more than 95% cases. This video tells (in Urdu language) that when to start antiviral therapy and for how long should this treatment be continued and how patients must be followed after completion of antiviral therapy.
