Description

On the authority of Sayyidina Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, he called for water and performed ablution, rinsed his mouth, put water in his nose, then washed his face three times, washed his arms three times, then wiped the outer part of his head and feet, and then laughed. Read and said to his companions: Will you not question me about that thing, which has made me laugh? People said: O Commander of the Faithful! why are you laughing He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he called for water, while he, may God bless him and grant him peace, was near that place, so he, may God bless him and grant him peace, performed ablution towards this ablution of mine and then smiled and said: Will you not question me about the thing that caused me to smile? People said: O Messenger of Allah! What has made you laugh? The Prophet, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: Verily, when a person washes his face after asking for water for ablution, Allah Almighty erases from his face all the sins committed by his face, then when he washes his face with his arms. It is the same when he washes, the same when he anoints, and the same when he washes his feet.

سیدنا عثمان بن عفان ؓ سے مروی ہے کہ انھوں نے پانی منگوایا اور وضو کیا، کلی کی، ناک میں پانی چڑھایا، پھر تین بار چہرہ دھویا، تین دفعہ بازو دھوئے اور پھر اپنے سر اور پاؤں کے ظاہری حصے کو مسح کیا اور پھر ہنس پڑھے اور اپنے ساتھیوں سے کہا: کیا تم مجھ سے اس چیز کے بارے میں سوال نہیں کرو گے، جس نے مجھے ہنسایا ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: اے امیر المؤمنین! آپ کیوں ہنسے ہیں؟ انھوں نے کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وآلہ ‌وسلم ‌ کود یکھا کہ آپ ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وآلہ ‌وسلم ‌ نے پانی منگوایا، جبکہ آپ ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وآلہ ‌وسلم ‌ اسی جگہ کے قریب تھے، پس آپ ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وآلہ ‌وسلم ‌ نے میرے اس وضو کی طرف وضو کیا اور پھر مسکرا پڑے اور فرمایا: کیا تم لوگ مجھ سے اس چیز کے بارے میں سوال نہیں کرو گے، جس کی وجہ سے میں مسکرایا ہوں؟ لوگوں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! کس چیز نے آپ کو ہنسا دیا ہے؟ آپ ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وآلہ ‌وسلم ‌ نے فرمایا: بیشک جب بندہ وضو کا پانی منگوا کر چہرہ دھوتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے چہرے سے ہر اس گناہ کو مٹا دیتا ہے، جس کا چہرے نے ارتکاب کیا ہوتا ہے، پھر جب وہ اپنے بازو دھوتا ہے تو اسی طرح ہوتا ہے، جب وہ مسح کرتا ہے تو اسی طرح ہوتا ہے اور جب وہ اپنے پاؤں دھوتا ہے تو اسی طرح ہوتا ہے۔
