Hazrat
It was narrated from Abdullah bin Aamir (RA) that one day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was visiting our house. My mother called me and said, "Come, I will give you something." What do you intend to give this child? My mother said I had intended to give her a date. The Prophet ﷺ said: Remember, if you did not give anything to this child after saying this, then a lie would have been written in your record of deeds. (Sunan Abi Dawud, Shab al-Iman for Bayhaqi)

Interpretation
Some serious types of lies have been mentioned above, but there are also some lies which many people do not consider as lies, although they are also part of lies and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) urged to avoid them too. Some such cases of lying are mentioned in the following hadiths:

Interpretation. The main purpose of this saying of the Holy Prophet is that lies should not be used even to entertain children, because the language of a Muslim should not be contaminated with lies. Will lie to children, even if it is only to amuse them, children will learn to lie to them, and they will not see any shame in lying.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hayda Raza that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Woe to the person who lies in his statement to make people laugh! Sorry about that! (Musnad Ahmad, Jami Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Darmi)

Interpretation
This means that telling lies just for the pleasure of company and laughter is also a bad thing and a bad habit. The hatred that should be in the heart also diminishes, and the third evil is that it gives courage to people to speak falsehood and helps the practice of falsehood.
