Description

Hazrat Abu Saeed says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Ninety-nine dragons are placed over the disbeliever in his grave which will bite and tear him to pieces till the Day of Resurrection. If the land is deprived of greenery, a similar tradition is narrated from Darmi and Jami 'al-Tirmidhi, but it has a number of seventy-nine instead.



It is narrated on the authority of 'Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he stood near a grave, he would weep (out of fear of Allah) so much that his beard would get wet (with tears). When they remember, they do not weep, but they stand and weep. (They said): The government of the two worlds has said: The grave is the first of the destinations of the Hereafter. Hazrat Uthman (RA) says that the Prophet (SAW) said: I have never seen a scene more severe than the grave. By standing on the grave, man forgets luxury and his faith in the instability of this world becomes strong, the result of which is that he finds his heart trembling with fear of Allah and attachment to the Hereafter. He also feels that the grave hates luxury and keeps him busy in hard work and remembrance of God. It has been said that the hardest place is the grave.
