Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever loves his world (so much so that he can overcome the love of Allah) then he harms his Hereafter. This is because when the love of this world overpowers him, his inner and outer world is always engaged in worldly affairs and because of this he is deprived of leisure and opportunity for the affairs of the Hereafter and obedience to Allah. He keeps his Hereafter right, he harms his world (because he is not always interested in the affairs of the Hereafter due to his preoccupation with the affairs of the Hereafter). If it cannot be combined with the other, then you should give preference to that which is to perish, that is, the world, and that which is to remain, that is, the Hereafter. (Ahmad, Bayhaqi) Mushkoot Sharif 5070
Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Do people love me too? The Holy Prophet said: Asceticize the world (ie do not fall in love with the world, turn away from its nonsense and focus on the affairs of the Hereafter). And because of that (Allah) will love you and do not incline towards that which people have (ie wealth) people will love you. (Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)
Description:
Lack of desire and inclination towards something is called asceticism and perfect and sincere asceticism is to be disgusted with the pleasures of the world even though they are available, so some people have said that asceticism is not a concept about this person. It is possible that one who has neither wealth nor possessions, but in fact Zahid is the one who, despite possessing wealth and possessions, stays away from their pleasures. It is said that once a person When a person addressed Hazrat Ibn Mubarak (RA) as Zahid, he said that Zahid was just Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (RA) in whose footsteps the world used to be drawn, but in spite of that he was a Turk of worldly pleasures. And what we have is that we will take asceticism, the result is that in fact asceticism is that despite the abundance of food, drink and clothing in the world, to satisfy the need as much as necessary and to give up waste.
