Description

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurayrah that a man complained to Rasoolullah about his cruelty of heart and hard heart. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Turn the hand of (love) over the heads of the orphans and feed the poor and needy. (Musnad Ahmad)

Description
Touching the heads of orphans with compassion and feeding the poor and needy are actually deeds which are carried out with compassion and pity, but if one's heart is devoid of compassion and pity and instead If there is cruelty in him, then the remedy is for him to do these deeds with dignity and strength of will. InshaAllah, the cruelty of his heart will be replaced by compassion. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has given guidance in this hadeeth towards this method of treatment.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Imam that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: And whoever treats an orphan girl or an orphan child who lives with him better, then me and that man will be as close as these two fingers in paradise. (That they will be as close as two fingers) (Musnad Ahmad, Jami Tirmidhi)

Description
It is clear from this hadeeth that the spiritual good tidings given in this hadeeth on the kind treatment of orphans are conditional on the condition that this kindness should be purely for the sake of Allaah. It should also be kept in mind in all its persuasive and evangelical hadiths like Qaeda-e-Kaliya.
