Description

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Insulting one's parents is one of the major sins. It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, can anyone abuse his parents? He said: Yes! This is the case when a man abuses someone's parents, then he abuses his parents in return (as if he himself insulted his parents). (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Description
From this hadith it is known that it is as bad for a person to say or do such a thing to another person as a result of which another person starts abusing his parents as it is to insult his own parents. It is a great sin. From this one can gauge the place of respect for parents in the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and how careful one should be about it. 1414
