Participants of 7th Maritime Security Workshop visit Creeks and Coastal Areas
The participants of 7th edition of Maritime Security Workshop (MARSEW-7) visited various naval units in Creeks and Coastal Areas.
In Creeks Area, the delegation visited forward posts of Pakistan Navy at Shah Bandar. The participants were briefed on Sir Creek issue and the challenges to country’s maritime boundaries in the complex terrain and difficult circumstances of the Creeks.
In Gwadar, the MARSEW participants were welcomed by Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin. They also visited Gwadar Port, where they were briefed about the ongoing projects. In Ormara, the participants toured Jinnah Naval Base, the hospital PNS DARMAN JAH, and Cadet College Ormara. They were provided with insights into the socio-economic and nation-building projects undertaken by Pakistan Navy. The delegation appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities provided by Pakistan Navy to the local communities and acknowledged its efforts in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR).
At the conclusion of the visit, the participants provided feedback to stakeholders and engaged in discussions to address their queries.
The purpose of the Maritime Security Workshop is to promote country’s untapped maritime sector. The workshop comprises academic sessions and field visits to maritime economic hubs and security installations.
