INTERNATIONAL MARITIME SYMPOSIUM (IMS 24) HELD AT NIMA
Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami HI (M) was the Chief Guest for the Session-III of 4th International Maritime Symposium (IMS-24), organised by the NIMA in collaboration with Bahria University.
Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed HI(M) (Retd), President NIMA, welcomed the Chief Guest and set the stage for 3rd and final session of IMS.
This year’s theme was “Realisation of Blue Economy through the Prism of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Options for Developing Countries”. The event gathered international laureates, diplomats, policymakers, and maritime professionals for vital discourse on sustainable practices.
The Chief Guest, Vice of the Naval Staff, in his address urged the stakeholders to prioritise sustainable ship recycling at Gadani under the Hong Kong Convention 2009. He also appreciated NIMA on the launching of six research reports, including a study on Pakistan's ship recycling industry.
Earlier, Vice Admiral Asif Khaliq HI(M) (Retd), Rector Bahria University extended a note of thanks to the Chief Guest, speakers, academia, media and the participants.
