SEMINAR ON ‘GEO-STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE OF INDIAN OCEAN REGION AT MARITIME CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE, PAKISTAN NAVY WAR COLLEGE, LAHORE
A seminar cum Webinar on ‘Geo-Strategic significance of #IndianOceanRegion’ was held at #PakistanNavy War College, #Lahore, on Tuesday 23, 2024, under the auspices of Maritime Center of Excellence (MCE), a semi-autonomous #thinktank.
The seminar was a collaborative endeavor of PN #WarCollege, Lahore #GarrisonUniversity and #LahoreCollege for #WomenUniversity. The seminar was attended by a large number of faculty members and students as well as members of think tanks.
The spirit behind the event was to emphasise the strategic significance of the Indian Ocean Region and to shed light on the challenges encountered by #Pakistan. During the seminar, speakers presented scholarly papers on pertinent topics. The seminar was divided in two sessions, Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Khalil Dar HI(M), Vice Chancellor Lahore #Garrison #University graced the first session as #chiefguest. The chief guest for the second session was Dr, Iram Anjum, Principal, #KinnairdCollege for Women Lahore. In their respective addresses both guests of honour praised the efforts of collaborating institutions for advancing understanding on the topic.
In his closing remarks, Rear Admiral Azhar Mehmood SI(M), Commandant PN War College, thanked the guests and remarked that meaningful intellectual collaboration between PN War College and academia has resulted in wide-spread #maritime awareness in the country.
