KARACHI: Famous TV personality and PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain's burial has been stopped by the police to determine the exact cause of his death.

Hussain's children Ahmed Aamir and Dua-e-Aamir had refused to allow his autopsy, his former wife Syeda Bushra Iqbal had announced earlier.

The 50-year-old televangelist passed away on Thursday. The news of his untimely death sent shock waves across the country.

SSP East Abdul Rahim Sherazi told Geo News the burial will not be allowed without a postmortem examination of the PTI leader. He maintained that they were constantly trying to contact Liaquat's family but his ex-wife Bushra Iqbal and both of his children had switched off their mobile phones.

“Burial without postmortem can be allowed only under a court order,” said the SSP.

Taking to Instagram, Bushra had announced that Hussain will be laid to rest at the Abdullah Shah Ghazi graveyard after his funeral prayers at 2pm today after Friday prayers.
