The Labour Party’s MP from Birmingham, Shabana Mehmood is among several other party members who demand Jeremy Corbyn to resign forthwith. Some of them had started raising resignation demand as soon as the exit poll results were announced after December 12 elections. “We have such examples in past where leaders resigned after the party’s defeat,” she told Geo News. But, the resignation alone wouldn’t resolve the issue as the ‘defeat was very strong’, she said. Similar views were expressed by another Labour MP Khalid Mehmood. The straightforward election message ‘Get Brexit Done’ of the Conservative Party led them to the resounding victory, he said. Whereas, our message was confused, he added.
