The motion to declare Islamophobia as hate crime and racism has been adopted by the Manchester City Council. The motion was presented by Councilor Naeemul Hassan. Other councilors supported the motion. One of the councilors condemned the fact that the Tory government isn’t willing to accept the definition of Islamophobia. They said the Islamophobic incidents increased over 50%, according to the statistics of the home department.
