Large congregations in connection with Jummatul Wida [last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan] were held in mosques of France. Religious scholars called upon Muslims to act upon the teachings of the holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The Ulema urged the followers of Islam to recite the holy Quran and understand its meaning. Mosques were so overcrowded that people had to offer Friday prayers on roads and streets.
