Lord Mayor of Birmingham Muhammed Azeem embarked on the practical politics in 1992. He was elected councilor for the first time in 2004. The community hailed his election as the lord mayor. “He is a wonderful man,” a local man told Geo News. Members of the Pakistani community called it an honor for them that Azeem became the lord mayor. Azeem, son of a poor farmer, came to Britain to earn living for his family in 1970.
