Geo News Special – In Britain, Brexit Party Wins Big In European Elections
Two major parties of the Britain - the Tory Party and the Labour Party - couldn’t get much support in the European elections. The Brexit Party bagged 29 seats for the European parliament in the May 23 elections in 73 constituencies of 12 regions. They got 32% votes. The Liberal Democrats grabbed 20% vote share and their 16 MEPs were elected. The Tory Party could garner only 9% vote share and got its four members elected in the European parliament. Also, there were 11 Pakistani British citizens contesting the elections however, only two were declared successful in the polls.
