Breaking News - Pakistan's judicial system not the same as that of an Islamic republic: CJP
LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said on Saturday that the country’s judicial system is not the same as that of an Islamic republic.

Speaking at Lahore Institute of Health Sciences, the chief justice said that: “I am saying it with regret that we don’t have any justice institution which is present in an Islamic republic.”

The chief justice regretted that there are no academic institutions in the remote areas of Baluchistan.

“Toilets, clean drinking water is not present in the present academic institutions in Balochistan,” he said.

The chief justice said that Hazrat Umar (RA) created an ideal nation state in Madinah, adding that judiciary plays a pivotal role to protect basic human rights of the citizens.
