It rained with thunder and lightning in different parts of the country, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab stormy winds wreaked havoc, roofs, walls collapsed and other incidents killed more than 29 people including women and children.
In the statement issued by PDMA, it is said that 25 people died in Marwat, Kirk and Bannu due to strong winds and torrential rains while 145 people were injured, 17 men, one woman and 7 others were killed. Children are included, 69 houses have been partially damaged due to torrential rains, Rescue 1122, district administration and related organizations are engaged in relief operations.
Relief Secretary Abdul Basit visited the PDMA's control room and instructed to speed up the relief operations and assess the damage, saying that the PDMA has sent to Bannu district, which is the most affected by storm and torrential rains. Four crore rupees have been released for the victims, relief should be provided to the victims as per the government policy.
