Abstract

Syed Balaqi is an eminent poet of Qutb Shahi Period. His "Mairaj Nama" is considered one of the significant poetic texts of Deccan epoch. It is basiclly a verse translation of a persian Mairaj Nama but the poet through his artistic dexterity has turned it into a creative piec. Not only this"Mairaj Nama" was papular in its own time
but it also impacted the later ages. The handwritten manuscripts of Balaqi's Mairaj Nama are preserved in different libraries of the world. In the present artical, another text of this Mairaj Nama is introduced. This manuscript belongs to Makhdoma Ameer Jaan Library, Narrali, Tehsil Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi.
The life sketch of Syed Balaqi and poetic style of Qutb Shahi Period are also aesthetically evaluated in the article.
