Abstract

Hazrat Sachal Sarmast was an undaunted mystic poet of his era. He was born in 1827. His thoughts have imbibed the effect of Mansoor bin Halaj and Fared-din Attar and he is grateful for it. He is titled "Mansor-e-sani" and "Attar of Sindh". Sachal Sarmast belonged to Talpur’s era. During this time, Sindh was clouded in the fog of imperialism and insularity and was almost on the verge of anarchy. Hence, such critical and sensitive political and religious circumstances were in close observation of Resultantly, he demonstrated, those conditions through his poetry, sometimes publicly and sometimes through metaphor and symbolism for public awareness.
