Abstract

The short story in the occupied lands began to make its way after the 1967 setback, and prove its existence, and its return intensifies with the passage of time, and with the increase in the number of literary and non-literary newspapers and magazines that used to devote a pillar on their pages to literature and criticism, through which writers spread their creativity, which led many writers To significantly use the symbol. The connotations of the symbol in the stories, indicating the symbol to the land, occupation and resistance, as well as the symbol to the relationship of the Arab regimes to the Palestinian cause and the relationship between the Arab citizen and the ruling authority. In this article, I have taken care to clarify the connotations of the symbol in the Palestinian story with suitable examples.
