Saraiki literature has a superb tradition of folk tales which have been collected, compiled and published by different scholars. Fourteen volumes of Saraiki folk tales have been published till todate and these fourteen volumes have three hundred and eighteen folk tales in them. The present study is an account to elucidate the variety of supernatural characters depicted in Saraiki folk tales. It also explains the justification behind this abundant use of supernatural elements in Saraiki folk tales. Six volumes of different narrators have been non randomly selected for the purspose of analysis. The textual analysis tool has been implemented to analyse the data thoroughly. This research is both qualitative and quantitative in nature.The findings show that Saraiki folk tales are replete with supernatural elements and these supernatural elements have added charm and interest in these flok tales.This study becomes singnificant as it points out the fears, apprehensions, depriviations, wishes and the dreams of the people of Saraiki region.
