This article covers the study of structural linguistic models. Part of which presents its nature and usefulness in Urdu criticism. Ferdinand de Saussure's linguistic model was initially analyzed for this study, and its dimensions were studied separately. It also examines the relationship between the structural linguistic model and Urdu criticism. Its purpose is to clarify the ways in which text is interpreted through structural linguistic models in Urdu criticism. This method of analyzing text extends from structuralism to post-structuralism. Through this study, all aspects of the structural linguistic model that are useful in literary criticism have been highlighted. Linguistic tools such as Langue, Parole, Linguistic Sign, Signifier, and Signified play an important role in interpreting text.
