Abstract

Muhammad ﷺ is the last of the Prophets, so it is necessary for every person to follow the Shariah brought by Him ﷺ and to be guided by it. The success of humanity lies in recognizing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and following Him. Many signs identify and many arguments prove the prophet hood of Muhammadﷺ. One of these is the seal that was placed between the shoulders of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah Almighty filled the chest of his Messenger Muhammad ﷺ with faith, wisdom, light, and knowledge and put a seal for his protection, which is called the Seal of Prophet hood. This seal is one of the signs of Prophet Hood, the sight of which converted many people to Islam. Various words are mentioned in the books of Hadith and Seerah regarding the form and character of the Seal because every seer, to clarify the form and nature of it, likened it to something that he found very clear and correct. These words summarize that near the soft bone between the two shoulders of the Prophet ﷺ there was a raised reddish-black patch with hair on it near the left shoulder, which was equal in size to a pigeon's egg. The Holy Prophet's body had the seal by birth, but on the Opening of the Blessed Chest, the seal was applied again for renewal.
