Balti and Urdu Language: Phonetical, Typeface and Semantical Commonalities
'Balti' is a local language spoken in Gilgit-Baltistan, the northern region/province of Pakistan.It is basically a branch of "Tibbati" language. Baltistan is consisting on six beautiful vallies: Skardu valley, Shigar Valley, khaplu valley, kharmang valley, Rondu valley and Goltary valley. "Balti" is the major language of this region. From the early nineteenth century to the late twentieth century until the establishment of the FATA of Pakistan, Urdu has been used in northern area of Pakistan as official, judicial and academic language. As the other local languages and dialects of Pakistani provinces have a strong and close relationship with Pakistani Urdu language, the same situation. can be seen in Balti language as well. It is necessary for the survival, development and stability of the concept of national language/ Pakistani Urdu, and to find out its roots in local languages and dialects, to research on the relevance between Pakistani Urdu and local and provincial languages. This article briefly presents the phonetical, typeface and semantical commonalities of Balti and Urdu language.
