Abstract

Tradition of Freedom of Thought in Urdu Fiction written on Dacca Fall The article says that literature being mirror to society, preserves many things which even history can't do. As far as Urdu literature is concerned it has archived such events as Indian mutiny 1857, partition of the Sub-continent and the Fall of Dacca. The last mentioned event is such an event which is preserved in literature, especially in fiction, with minute details in a better way than in history. The article discusses almost twenty five Urdu novels and dozens of Urdu short stories which deal with this subject.
