Abstract

After the advent of Persian language in subcontinent, the arrival of Iranian poets during the Mughal period, proved to be a puff of cold breeze in the literature of subcontinent. But during the British regime, beside Iranian, most of the European writers and poets also focused upon Urdu and Persian language here in subcontinent, particular their sincere attempts to composeverses in Persian language is an incredible effort on their part. The British, Portages, German, Italian and French poets were particularly worth mentioning in this regard who tried almost all forms of poetry in Persian language and were immensely appreciated and acknowledged because of their unique efforts. Besides giving a brief record of the life sketches of these German poets in subcontinent, in this article, to persuade the literary artists to acknowledge their linguistic and literary contributions which they particularly rendered in the field of Persian poetry.
