Abstract

The objectives of the study were, to identify the role of cooperative teachers in teachingpractice according to the perspective of prospective teachers, with reference to lessonplanning, professional support and provision of feedback. In order to achieve theobjectives and answer the research questions quantitative research design was appliedand the survey was carried out. Respondents of the study were selected from theprospective students of the Department of Education, International Islamic UniversityIslamabad. A questionnaire was developed based on three constructs, which were;Lesson Planning, Professional Support and Feedback. Data were analyzed through themean. Findings of the study showed that cooperative teachers provide more facilitationon professional support as compared to lesson planning and feedback. It was concludedthat, course instructors and cooperative teachers both are key players in theprofessional development of pre-service teachers. It was recommended that regularinteractive sessions may be organized between cooperative teachers and teachereducators. Training institutions may provide different incentives to the cooperativeteachers.
