The purpose of the study was to investigate children’s daily lives, the current situation of pre-primary education, and parents’ views about pre-primary education in Narok, where culture and tradition of the Maasai are still well preserved. Based on the multiple interviews, the study finds that the significance of culture of the Maasai is still prevalent in unschooled parents’ views towards child-raising and expectations for their children, but many of them value the purposes of pre-primary education. It concludes that the local pre-primary schools could improve their financial strategy to correspond to the free-pre-primary education policy and their mother tongue education.
