Mian Sher Muhammad Sharqpuri is one of the great Sufis of the 20th century on the subcontinent of Pakistan and India, whose preaching efforts have benefited millions of people. Many books have been written on the biography of the sheikh, and many research dissertations at the MPhil level have also been written. Muhadditheen has called the connectivity of the chain a basic requirement to check the authenticity of the hadiths. Likewise, the Sufis place special importance on the genealogy of Tariqat. Some Sufis have specified that joining the chain of Tariqat is one of the conditions for being a Shaykh-e-Tariqat. While studying the lives of Naqshbandiyya, especially those elders who are mentioned in the spiritual genealogy of Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad Sharqpuri, the writer explored many irregularities in the family tree of Tariqat. For a long time, some Mashaikh had gone into anonymity, or because of the similarity of their names, they were being considered other Mashaikh instead of the real Mashaikh. That mashaikh are from Hazrat Khwaja Muhammad Zaman to Hazrat Khwaja Abdul Ahad Gul-e-Wahdat (May Allah have mercy on these sheiks). The writer has arranged to enter the solar date along with the lunar date as far as possible in this paper. This research paper will lead to the opening of new avenues for researchers studying Naqshbandi Sufis.
To explore and clarify irregularities and anonymity in the spiritual lineage (Tariqat) of Naqshbandiyya Sufis, specifically those connected to Mian Sher Muhammad Sharqpuri, by identifying and correcting misidentified or obscured Mashaikh.
The study involves an in-depth examination of the spiritual genealogy of Naqshbandiyya Sufis connected to Mian Sher Muhammad Sharqpuri. The researcher identified "many irregularities in the family tree of Tariqat" and instances where Mashaikh went into anonymity or were confused with others due to similar names. The paper aims to arrange for the entry of solar dates alongside lunar dates where possible to aid in this clarification.
