Abstract

In this paper, we propose an improved genetic algorithm for community detection in complex networks. The basic idea of the improved genetic algorithm is to modify crossover operators which are more suitable for community detection and then design a heuristic mutation operator based on local modularity to avoid the blindness of random flip. The experimental results show that the improved genetic algorithm can reduce the selection pressure.
