Abstract

This paper explores the classification of goods based on Islamic principles of trade, focusing on the permissibility (Ḥalāl) and prohibition (Ḥarām) of various products in commerce. Drawing on primary sources from Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), the study categorizes goods into distinct groups: Ḥalāl (permissible), Ḥarām (forbidden), and Makrūh (discouraged). The analysis addresses ethical considerations, social impact, and religious obligations associated with trading specific items, including food, financial products, and services. It also examines how contemporary challenges, such as the rise of digital and global markets, influence the interpretation of these categories. This study aims to provide a clear framework for traders and businesses to operate in compliance with Islamic law, promoting ethical and socially responsible commerce.
