Qaṣīda is a genre of Arabic poetry that originated in pre-Islamic Arabia and has been widely used in Islamic literature. It is a long, rhyming poem that typically consists of a series of themes and sentiments, such as love, sorrow, praise, and social commentary. Qaṣīdas often have a complex structure and feature intricate rhyme and meter patterns. The form has been used by many great poets throughout the Islamic world, and continues to be an important part of Arabic literary traditions. The sheikh Mehmood Bin Abdul Rehman, may God Almighty have mercy on him, is considered one of the prominent scholars of Hama, and one of the famous sheikhs of Syria. He greatly enriched the scientific life in his town, by establishing legal schools, delivering sermons from the pulpit, and teaching legal and linguistic sciences for sixty years. Indeed, his activity extended to include all Syrian governorates. And brotherly Arab countries, so a number of its sons became disciples of him, and he made his life. All of his life serving Islam and Muslims, a working scholar, and an old educator, his peers were few and mighty, until there was unanimity among the scholars on his elevation, the loftiness of his status, and the firmness of his feet. The Shaykh has described the praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a very strange way in this qasida, which has been described in a good manner in this article. This qasida of the Sheikh has gained public acceptance and has been accepted by the general and the superior.
