Abstract

Maulana WahidUddin Khan, a prominent religious scholar in India, extensively addressed various aspects of religion, particularly Islam, in the context of modern science and philosophy. His works aimed to guide Muslims in facing contemporary challenges to Islam and religion. One such challenge was Atheism, which he tackled comprehensively using a scientific and logical approach. According to Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, the current manifestation of Atheism, known as Neo Atheism, exhibits a more scientific orientation compared to its historical counterparts. This rise of scientific Atheism has been observed not only globally but also within Muslim-majority countries, posing a significant challenge to religion unprecedented in history. To effectively counter and counteract the misleading concepts of Atheism, Maulana emphasized the establishment and development of a new scientific discipline called "Ilm-e-Kalam" (the science of discourse).
