Research Objective

To identify how students with preferred learning styles rate the academic environment of the Medical College.

Methodology

Cross-sectional study conducted at Shifa College of Medicine, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, from April 2022 to September 2022. Students were administered the Honey & Mumford Learning Style Questionnaire (LSQ) and the Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM).

Discussion

The study suggests that the academic environment of the medical college is conducive to students with a Reflector learning style. The positive ratings across DREEM domains, particularly in learning and atmosphere, are attributed to student-centered teaching approaches and integrated curriculum.

Key Findings

The predominant preferred learning style among the students was Reflector (58.4%). Reflectors rated the DREEM domains positively, indicating a favorable perception of the academic environment.

Conclusion

The overall environment of the medical college appears to be favorable for students with a Reflector learning style. Further research is recommended to assess the environment from the perspective of students with other learning styles.
