A pressure gradient level that must be reached to enable the fluid to overcome the viscous forced is defined as the threshold pressure gradient, TPG. It has been observed that the TPG has effect on the pseudorradial (or late radial) flow regime of horizontal wells, but such earlier flow regimes as early radial, early linear and elliptical do not suffer the effect of the TPG. In this work, a methodology previously introduced in the literature for well test interpretation in horizontal wells drilled in both homogeneous and naturally fractured formations has been adapted by using some corrections factors. The re-formulated methodology was successfully tested on synthetic pressure tests.
