Rapid changes have been happened in land uses in Baghdad city in Iraq especially through the last fifteen years ago. Green and agricultural areas are gradually decreased as a result of population growth and increasing demand for residential buildings. The intent of this study is to determine the annual area changes of land uses during the period from 2002 to the end of 2016. The elected study area is placed in North of Baghdad. Set of multi-temporal satellite images are obtained from Google earth professional. These images are rectified according to the coordinate system in Iraq by measuring numerous control points using geographic information system. The results indicate that the percentages of land use area changes are 36.7%, 35.1%, 34.3%, 17%, and 12.4% in Gheraiat, Tunis district, Basateen district, Saba Abkar, and Surroundings of Kadhimiyah regions, respectively. Regression equations are deduced with high value of R square for all regions which give an ability to predict land use area alteration in future.
