Most of the new energy furtherance in wind, sun, oil, gas, nuclear and hydroelectricity includes underwater infrastructure. All underwater infrastructure requires routine inspections for long haul care from corrosion. Underwater investigations were arduous, troublesome moreover risky. In order avoid the unpropitious incidents, a new digital image processing strategy was proposed in this article to investigate underwater infrastructure. A hybrid image processing algorithm developed by incorporating Poisson Gaussian- Mixture distribution, Fuzzy Segmentation, and weak-classifier Color based (WCCD) algorithms to detect Corrosion in underwater infrastructure. The proposed algorithm along with the Remotely operated underwater vehicle in detecting the corroded spot show adequacy in recognizing the corroded spots in the underwater infrastructure.
